Fiene Scharp
Fiene Scharp, Untitled (Detail), 2024, Courtesy of the Artist and Galerie Kuckei + Kuckei
Fiene Scharp studied Fine Arts at the Berlin University of the Arts and German Studies at Humboldt University of Berlin. She has been a fellow of the Stiftung Kunstfonds, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Dorothea Konwiarz Foundation and the Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf, and has received several art awards.
Her works have been shown in numerous national and international exhibitions, including the Museum für Konkrete Kunst Ingolstadt, Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, Museum Ritter, Kunsthalle Bremerhaven, Gustav-Lübcke-Museum, Design Museum Den Bosch (NL) and Musée Charmey (CH).
She is represented by Galerie Kuckei + Kuckei in Berlin.
Her works in paper, hair and graphite emerge from the tension between order and deviation, structure and disruption. Through precise manual interventions she modifies grids and subtly interferes with predefined systems. What initially appears regular and controlled reveals, upon closer inspection, minute differences, fractures and traces of fragility. Perception thereby becomes a slowed, active process.
