İkili is the duo of Seda Mimaroğlu and Andreas Reihse
MIMAROĞLU and REIHSE have been collaborating since 2016. Their first release was the album Loose Leaves (Wanda, 2018), on which Reihse set Mimaroğlu’s poems to music. This was followed by performances at Image Movement, Hopscotch, Arkaoda, Periode, and Morphine Raum, as well as DJ sets at Herz, Rauschgold and Arkaoda. Further pieces appeared on the compilations Karl Marx’s 200th!, Multiverse, and Tree Aid – Emmauswald bleibt!. Reihse also wrote the afterword to Mimaroğlu’s book Love Songs (Blue Figure Press, 2021).
Three new releases are planned for the coming months.
SEDA MIMAROĞLU artist and poet from Istanbul, works across text, sound, and image. With a background in literature, art history, law and philosophy, her exhibitions, publications, and performances often emerge in collaboration with other artists, musicians, and researchers. ANDREAS REIHSE is an artist living in Berlin, best known as (electronic) musician and composer, as well as a founding member of Kreidler and Periode. His artistic practice also encompasses text, design, drawing, film and curating. Reihse has collaborated with a wild range of musicians, visual artists, filmmakers, authors, and fashion designers on films, plays, performances and installations. [reihse.de]
