Taiyoh Mori – o.T. (Detail), seit 2019, Courtesy of the Artist
Born in Japan and living in Germany for many years, the artist Taiyoh Mori studied design at Seian University Siga (JP) from 2002 to 2006 and painting and graphic arts at Burg Giebichenstein Art Academy under Prof. Thomas Rug from 2011 to 2017, both for a diploma and postgraduate studies.
He has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. His works are housed, among others, in the Staatliche Graphische Sammlung München (State Graphic Collection Munich) and the House of Paper Berlin. In 2025 he won the Paper Art Award in Gold.
In his highly minimalist works, he explores the line in all its manifestations. In his artistic work, he explores the nature of drawing and its relationship to space. Mori lends his drawings a spatio-temporal component by incorporating glass and primarily natural light into his installations.
He is represented by the Rupert Pfab Gallery in Düsseldorf.
